MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Locals will be able to enjoy the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair – in time for St. Patrick's day on Thursday.

All the familiar rides locals grew up with are ready to go.

"This has been a tradition for the community. We have people who have come here for many years," said Claudia Hernandez- Maltes with the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair.

The attractions are being tested before the start of its 65th anniversary.

"We're celebrating 65 years of smiles. Opening day, we are having a parade and also we are having fireworks," said Hernandez-Maltes.

A new ride - KiddieLand Too's – elephant-themed ride will make the kids happy.

There's also a new ride for adults. The Hurricane is for those with solid stomachs.

"It's a great place to be with the family enjoy and spend the day doing something really fun," said Hernandez-Maltes.

They'll also have favorites like cotton candy, giant corn dogs, elephant ears and pizza in their 170 food concessions.

And you won't get bored with 50 games along with concerts.

"We're doing a Christian concert and a country concert, two Latin concerts and a disco concert. So we have something for everyone to enjoy," said Hernandez-Maltes.

For those wanting to attend, the fair opens March 17th.
