Residents Complaints Lead To Apartment With Pot, Weapons & Cash

TAMARAC (CBSMiami) --  Five people are under arrest after residents of a Tamarac neighborhood complained prompting an investigation in which deputies found pot, weapons and cash inside an apartment.

Broward Sheriff's Deputies said in December 2014 they got various complaints over the unit in the Palm Island Club apartment complex located at 5169 Island Club Dr.

Residents complained about drug sales and heavy traffic coming from a unit.  That's when detectives started gathering surveillance and intelligence.

Due to the investigation, detectives were able to arrest 26-year old Sean-Paul Clive Davis. Four others were also arrested including Daniel Burnett, 32; Jeremy Antonio Francis, 25, Shawn Andre Clark, 28; and Safiya Maxwell, 27. They have been charged with felony possession of cannabis with intent to sell, grand theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, passing forged checks and resisting arrest.

Sometime during the arrests, deputies said the suspects tried to flush the cannabis down the toilet but the pot did not flush and was found in the toilet by authorities.

Detectives seized two pounds of marijuana, approximately $1,500 in cash, two handguns, a shotgun and a bulletproof vest from inside the home.
