Report: Wade & Gatorade Give High School New Locker Room

NEW ORLEANS (CBSMiami) – Miami Heat superstar Dwyane Wade may not have been able to do much on the court at the 2014 NBA All-Star Game, but off the court, Wade made quite an impression on the players at Riverdale High School.

According to SLAMOnline, Riverdale's locker room was dilapidated, rusted, and had rotting wood on the benches. Wade and Gatorade moved almost as quickly as he and LeBron get up the court to change the atmosphere at Riverdale.

After the Riverdale Rebels left the locker room at halftime of a game on February 15, a group of workers transformed the locker room into a locker room based on the Miami Heat's locker room, according to SLAMOnline.

The Rebels won the game and when they walked into the locker room, they were stunned to see the new room and Wade waiting for them.

"I'm glad I get to be here and unveil this for these guys," Wade told SlamOnline. "And for them to win the game and then come in here to this room is awesome."

Wade has been one of the more active NBA players in the community, especially South Florida, since he became an internationally known superstar. It's led to Miami-Dade County earning the nickname of Miami-Wade County.

As an aside, the Rebels win sent the team to the playoffs for the first time in at least 17 years.
