Lockdown Lifted At Bel-Aire Elem. In Cutler Bay

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A precautionary lockdown has been lifted at a south Miami-Dade elementary school.

The measure was ordered after Miami-Dade Schools police said they received reports of a possible armed person near Bel-Aire Elementary at 10205 SW 194th Street in Cutler Bay.

Miami-Dade police set up a perimeter and assisted the school system's police department in searching the grounds.

Chopper4 over the school spotted officers with guns drawn canvassing the campus.

The kindergarten class, which was scheduled to be dismissed at 1:50 p.m., her held in the school until the situation could be deemed safe.

Just after 3:30 p.m. police concluded the lockdown and students were released to their parents.
