Report: Miami Hurricanes Have Inquired About Houston's Tom Herman

Hours after relieving Al Golden of his head coaching duties and the Miami Hurricanes have apparently launched their coaching search.

Among the more intriguing names mentioned is Houston's Tom Herman, who has the No. 18 Cougars off to a sizzling 7-0 start in his first year as head coach.

Inside The U reports Miami is in the process of "evaluating" the former award-winning assistant of Urban Meyer at Ohio State. Herman was the Buckeyes' offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2012-2014. At 40, he's among the youngest head coaches in college football.

Herman was actually asked about the Miami job in a media availability today.

Will the Canes look outside a power conference again in naming their next coach?
