Report: FSU's Wilder Heading To NFL

TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami) – The Florida State Seminoles are a little more than 24 hours removed from a national championship but the team already has at least one hole to fill heading into next season.

According to ESPN's Joe Schad, FSU running back James Wilder, Jr. has decided to forego his senior season and enter the 2014 NFL Draft.

The decision is a bit of a surprise as Wilder could never crack the starting lineup on a consistent basis and struggled with injuries from time to time during his collegiate career. Wilder had just three carries for 21 yards in the BCS National Championship win on Monday night.

Still, Wilder is 6'2", weighs 229 pounds, has decent speed and is a punishing runner with plenty of tread left on his tires. He ran 81 times for 563 yards and eight touchdowns this season for Florida State.
