Report: Clive Walford 'Hurting' Draft Stock

Is Clive Walford in for a free fall on Draft Day?

The former Miami Hurricane has widely been considered among the top two tight ends available and the advanced metrics back it up. Many outlets project him to fall in the second or third round. But according to a report from NFL.com's Lance Zierlein, Walford has been hurting his stock throughout the interview process.

Walford was Brad Kaaya's most trustworthy target last season, hauling in a team-high 44 catches for 676 yards and seven touchdowns. The news of him being difficult in the interview process is strange because nobody in the local media nor at the University of Miami has ever expressed -- at least publicly -- that Walford was unpleasant to deal with.

One may wonder whether this could be a ploy by Walford after getting a guarantee from a certain team. Teams could also put out misleading information for personal gain.

With the draft days away, the smoke is swirling. Trust no one.
