MIAMI GARDENS (CBSMiami) – With the Miami Dolphins season over, Sun Life Stadium has begun its major renovation project that will end with new video scoreboards and a canopy that will protect fans from bad weather and sun exposure.

The plans for 2015 include replacing all the seats inside Sun Life Stadium, renovating the 100-level and upper-deck concourses and adding several rows of seats to the bottom of the 100-level sideline sections so that fans will be closer to the field.

The major appearance-changing renovations, which include new video screens, upgrades in the club and 200-level suites and the giant canopy, will be completed in 2016 following the 2015 Dolphins season.

The stadium's overall capacity will be reduced to around 66,000 seats, cutting down the current number by approximately 10,000.

One big mystery that remains is the details of the new seats.  Many are hoping that the Dolphins choose to change the current orange color to something that won't stand out as much when they are empty.
