HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) – Authorities arrived at a Hollywood home on Tuesday after a realtor reported a dead person in the pool.

They arrived at the home located at the 1300 block of Van Buren Street just after 4 p.m. and quickly went to work trying to figure out what happened, speaking to neighbors, like Lori Tofexis who lives next door.

"I'm here but I didn't see anything," said Tofexis.

Tofexis said a middle-aged man lived in the home but she really never saw or spoke to him.

Detectives could not confirm it was her neighbor.

"It's a pretty safe neighborhood I think. So I mean I just assume that he went for a swim and had a heart attack as far as I can tell," said Tofexis.

People who live in this quaint old-Florida neighborhood just blocks from Hollywood Beach walked around all evening, curious about what happened and what to make of it.

"Bad things happen in good neighborhoods but for the most part it's been so safe here. It's a great neighborhood," said longtime neighbor Ann Ralston.

"I've heard that Florida has the highest rate of drownings in like the country," said neighbor Julee Medlin. "So I'll keep listening to see what happens."
