Rare Pair Of Tiger Cubs Arrive In Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- A rare pair of tiger cubs have made their way to South Florida.

Seven week old Bengal tigers Amira and Nura arrived at the Zoological Wildlife Foundation (ZWF Miami) this week.

"We are thrilled to welcome these two tiger cubs and give them a safe and loving home," said Mario Tabraue, President and Director of ZWF Miami.

Amira (Princess in Arabic) and Nura (Light in Arabic) were born back on April 9th. The foundation says the two are part of a group that need major protection.

"There are approximately 2,500 Bengal tigers left in the world today, and its important that we protect these threatened wildlife," said Maria Tabraue, Vice President and Director of the zoo.

The Bengal cubs - mostly found in India - can be seen during the foundation's personal encounters at the zoo located at 16225 SW 172 Avenue. Click here for more information.
