Rare Discovery: Harbor Seal Found In South Florida
WEST PALM BEACH (CBSMiami) – A rare sight in South Florida over the weekend as a harbor seal was discovered in Palm Beach Inlet.
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation officials were able to rescue the seal which was reportedly very thin and tired.
Harbor seals are typically found in the northern Atlantic.
The seal was taken to SeaWorld Orlando by biologists for further evaluation and care.
FWC officials released photos of the seal on the group's Facebook page.
While it is rare to see harbor seals in South Florida, they have been documented this far south in the past.
