MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Purina has issued a voluntary recall for a number of their wet dog food products.

According to the company, a number of their internal quality tests showed some of their 10-oz tubs of wet dog food may not contain the recommended levels of added vitamins and minerals.

This prompted the recall which includes their Beneful Prepared Meals, Beneful Chopped Blends and Pro Plan Savory Meals.

Retailers have been asked to remove the affected products.

The company issued a statement on Facebook, saying in part,

"Although most of the recalled product contains all of the vitamins and minerals your dog needs, we still recommend that you discard any of the affected product you may have, and we'll issue you a refund."

Those who want a refund or have questions can call 1-800-345-5678.
