Hialeah Precautionary Boil Water Alert Lifted

HIALEAH (CBSMiami) –The City of Hialeah Department of Public Works has lifted a precautionary boil water alert issued on December 21st.

Low water pressure in the City of Hialeah had prompted the alert.

The low water pressure, according to city officials, extended from the north limit of the city, south to West 60th Street, and west of the Palmetto Expressway.

The city's Public Works Department along with the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) and the Miami Dade Water and Sewers Department (MDWASD) worked diligently to resolve the matter, flushing, sampling and testing water quality throughout the affected area since December 21, 2013.

All sample test results for the past two consecutive days were  within the established limits. The city's water met and or exceeded all Federal and State standards.

Residents may continue to see city crews working in the general area of W 84th Street between W 30th Avenue and W 36th Avenue undertaking routine maintenance activities related to the water distribution system.
