HIALEAH (CBSMiami) – Some Hialeah residents are asked to boil their water as a precaution Monday.

An advisory has been issued for the areas between West 1st Ave. and East 6th Ave, between East 9th St. and SE 2nd St. and Okeechobee Rd.

The City of Hialeah Department of Public Works will be repairing a water distribution system valve, which are expected to be completed by Thursday.

As a precaution, the City advises residents in the affected areas should boil all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.

The precautionary boil water advisory will remain in effect until bacteriological survey shows that the water is safe to drink, the City said.

Any questions contact the city's Department of Water and Sewer at 305-556-3800.
