Potential Investors Meet With Beckham United Rep, Mayor Gimenez

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Major League Soccer in Miami looks to be slowly but surely making its way toward reality.

Only CBS4 was on hand as Miami Beckham United attorney Neisen Kasdin met with a group of potential investors in the superstar's local soccer venture on Thursday in Miami.

In the closed meeting, Kasdin said Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez told the group Miami would be a good place to spend their money.

"Potential investors came to town and Mayor Gimenez was talking to them and encouraging them to come here and be part of this."  said Kasdin.

Beckham failed in his efforts to acquire two waterfront sites for a soccer stadium in Downtown Miami.

He then settled on a location near the Metro Rail in Miami and is buying most of the property from private owners and a smaller parcel from the county in order to construct the stadium there.
