MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information which leads to the arrest of two men who attempted to rob one of their branches in Miami-Dade.

The attempted armed robbery happened April 25th, around 12:30 p.m., at the Goulds Branch at 22350 Old Dixie Highway. After entering the lobby area, one men stood guard by the door while the other pulled a gun and attempted to jump through a window at the service counter.

"The employee that was behind the counter was lucky enough to close that (security) window fast enough that the suspect was not able to get all the way into the back of the counter," said Postal Inspector Blanca Alvarez.

Both men, who left the facility empty handed, were caught on the building's security cameras. The USPIS said they should be considered armed and dangerous.

"It's very concerning that the suspects came in, one of them showed a weapon and they're still out there on the loose," said Alvarez.

Anyone with information is urged to call the USPIS at 877-876-2455.
