MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police are looking for the vandals who slashed several boats at the 'Shake a leg' facility in Coconut Grove.

"This was savageness, crazy," said waterfront manager Craig Kirk.

Someone took a knife or sharp object to a just restored wooden powerboat and gashed several inflatables at the nonprofit.

The cost of repairs is devastating for the organization that's been a Miami institution for decades helping to transform lives on the water and
the boats are crucial for hundreds of disadvantaged and disabled kids attending summer camp.

"Emotionally it's devastating. we've lost two-thirds of the boats for children," said Kirk.

If you have information on the vandalism call Crimestoppers at (305) 471-8477 or (305) 471-TIPS.
