Police: Woman Caught Stealing Beer Urinated In Officer's Car

HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) — A woman suspected of shoplifting beer from a Hollywood convenience store reportedly urinated and defecated in a patrol car after tossing a dog into traffic.

Police were called to the 7-Eleven store by employees who said Arlene Mena, 28, stole three Yuengling beers from the cold case.

When officers arrived they spotted the Hallandale Beach woman trying to cross the street carry a small dog. When she saw the, Mena reportedly tried to run away and tossed the dog into oncoming traffic.

She was subsequently taken into custody. An officer chased after the dog, which narrowly missed being hit by several vehicles, and rescued it from the street unharmed.

While sitting in the back of a police cruiser, Mena reportedly kicked the back seat window and banged on the plastic partition with her hands.

After being warned repeatedly to stop, Mena urinated, defecated and spat in the back of the patrol car to retaliate, according to police.

She was arrested and charged with animal cruelty, petty theft, causing damage to property and resisting an officer without violence.
