Police Warn Of Unlicensed Contractor Accused Of Taking Money From Elderly Woman
BOYNTON BEACH (CBSMiami) -- Boynton Beach Police are warning the public of an unlicensed contractor who allegedly took thousands of dollars from an elderly woman, promising to do the work and then disappeared.
Daniel Joseph Kovatch, 45, allegedly contracted with the 89-year old woman to remodel her Northeast 20th Avenue kitchen in February.
Detectives said he allegedly bilked her out of more than $11,000 .
He began the work by removing the kitchen cabinets and sink but then the work stopped and the woman's attempts to reach Kovatch were unsuccessful.
