Two Shot In Fort Lauderdale, Suspect In Custody

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is investigating a Friday afternoon double shooting.

Police said it happened at around 3:25 p.m., in the 110 block of Southeast 22nd Street.

Here is what police had to say about the shooting:

"As officers arrived on scene and established a perimeter, they observed a white 4-door Infiniti attempting to flee the area. When officers tried to make contact with the sole occupant of the Infiniti, he immediately exited the vehicle and fled."

Police said the first gunshot victim was located in front of 110 Southeast 22nd Street and the second was located in the 400 block of Southeast 18th Street. They said both victims were unwilling to provide information to officers on scene and were transported to Broward Health Medical Center for their injuries.

Authorities said the suspect was eventually apprehended after a perimeter was set up in the area. They did not identify their suspect.

Police identified the victims as Jeffrey Filsaime and Windy Jean. Both are Lauderdale residents.

Police did not give a reason for the shooting as they continue with their investigation.
