LIVE OAK (CBSMiami/AP) — A northern Florida police officer is facing federal charges for possession of child pornography.

FBI agents searched the home of Sgt. Kyle Kirby last week but didn't find any evidence, according to a criminal complaint noted by the Associated Press. Later that day, however, Live Oak Police said they searched Kirby's computer inside his patrol car and found 87 pictures containing child porn.

The investigation comes as part of Project Safe Childhood, a program launched by the Department of Justice in 2006.

Kirby was arrested and is looking at 10 years behind bars.
