SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – Hours after he was reported missing, authorities found a 12-year old boy with autism.

Family and police frantically searched all day for Cory Binelo.

The search was coordinated in a grocery store parking lot at SW 97th Avenue and Coral Way.

Police said the boy's mother was helping in the investigation since around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

One woman told CBS4 she was absolutely scared. Everyone was.

Miami-Dade police fanned out in all directions looking for any signs of Cory.

Bloodhounds were brought in from all over, including this one from Palm Beach Schools.

It appears the dogs did not pick up Cory's scent that they got from his book bag.

Then came the big break his family was waiting for.

"Has someone been found? Has he been found?"  CBS4 Ted Scouten asked after overhearing news of Cory's discovery.

"Yes! He's been found!" Cory's grandmother said.

His grandmother said the boy was found, but he was nowhere close to his original location. He somehow managed to make it 25 miles.

He went all the way from a Navarro Supermarket at SW 97th Avenue and Coral Way to Camillus House-Naranja Cottage at 27940 S. Dixie Highway.

Investigators said he was with a friend, but did not elaborate on how he got there.
