Police Search For Man Who Stabbed Officer In The Neck

MIAMI (CBSMiami) --  Miami-Dade Police are looking for a man accused of stabbing a Department of Corrections officer in the neck earlier this month.

Officer Jorge Marbal is recuperating after being stabbed on the morning of January 5th at 6215 S.W. 133rd Avenue .

According to police, the subject approached Officer Marbal and asked for a cigarette and spare change. When Marbal declined the man's request and turned to walk away, the man stabbed him in the neck.

After a brief struggle, the man ran away.

Investigators are asking for the community's help to identify the man in the sketch.
