Cyclist killed in Fort Lauderdale hit-and-run

FORT LAUDERDALE — A man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle while biking along Davie Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday morning.

Around 6:08 a.m., Fort Lauderdale Police was called out to 2000 W. Davie Blvd. in response to a crash involving a vehicle and bicyclist. Upon arrival, officers determined that the suspected vehicle fled the scene.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he died, Fort Lauderdale Police told CBS News Miami.

The circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run are under investigation as police search for the driver responsible for the crash.
