Police Give All Clear After False Explosives Threat In SW Miami-Dade

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Several streets were shut down Monday night as Miami-Dade police investigated a possible explosives threat in Southwest Miami-Dade.
Miami-Dade police said this whole ordeal started shortly after 9 p.m. when Miami Beach police received a phone call saying some sort of explosive situation was taking place off of 117th Ave. and 18th St.
Police shut off some streets in the surrounding neighborhood and the Turnpike in both directions between Bird Road and SW 8th Street.
NEW: Police activity in Miami-Dade on Floridas Turnpike north at Exit 20 Kendall Dr, on-ramp closed, all lanes blocked.

Investigators said they responded to the apartment where this threat was called in and even sent a bomb squad to check it out. They said they found two people that had nothing to do with this call.
Miami-Dade police later tweeted out that there was "no immediate threat during the preliminary investigation."

Almost two and a half hours later, all streets were reopened.
