MIAMI (CBSMiami) -- Detectives are hoping video released of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that killed a 61-year-old man can lead to the identity of the driver.

It happened shortly after 1:00 a.m. on Friday in the area of the N.W. 3000 block and North River Drive.

Miami-Dade Police said a dark-color pickup truck, possibly a Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra, struck a motorized bicycle driven by Jorge Vargas as it was heading eastbound.

Vargas was thrown from his bike and onto the sidewalk, striking his head on the pavement.

The driver fled the area without stopping to help.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
