Police: Man Accidently Kills Himself During Argument

PINELLAS PARK (CBSMiami/AP) – A Pinellas Park man reportedly shot himself in the face – on accident – while arguing with his wife in their home.
Police said Dennis Eugene Emery, 57, was fighting with his wife early Tuesday. Emery allegedly grabbed a gun and threatened to shoot one of their dogs. He pulled the hammer back on the revolver as if he planned to carry through with his threat. At some point, he tried to release the hammer and the gun fired, striking him in the face.
He died at the scene.
Police say they've have 34 contacts with Emery since 2012, including three arrests in the past five days for domestic battery, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and leaving the scene of a crash.
