Police Make Arrest At Home Where Child Was Killed

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Police said they've arrested a man for possession of a firearm and drugs after serving a search warrant Thursday.

The search warrant was executed at around 10 a.m. by the Miami-Dade Police Department's Special Response Team at the home located at 15120 Jackson Street in Richmond Heights.

It's the same house where 7-year-old Amiere Castro was shot and killed during a drive by on December 27th, 2015.

Police said since the shooting, they've received several tips about drug activity at the residence.

During a search warrant, police said they seized two pounds of marijuana along with a firearm and ammunition.

Micheal Tobler, Amiere's uncle, was placed under arrest and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as well as possession of cannabis.
