Police Investigating Fatal Shooting Near Sunrise Shopping Center

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the parking lot of a Sunrise shopping center Monday night.

Police said they responded to calls of a person shot near the Advance Auto Parts located at 2320 North University Drive shortly after 9 p.m.

Authorities confirmed the male who was shot has died.

The Sunrise Police Department Incident Command Center arrived at around 10:45 p.m. and the area has been taped.

At this time, the motive of the shooting is unknown.

Police have not released the name of the victim.

The investigation is ongoing.
