MIAMI (CBSMiami) – Miami-Dade police officers are investigating a murder-suicide.

The victim, who is a popular South Florida realtor, was shot and killed in Miami-Dade.

The suspect, who is her son-in-law, turned the gun on himself in Hollywood.

Multiple family friends told CBS4, there was an argument at a home on Northeast 211th Street, just west of Aventura.

That's when they say the victim, Linda Marx, followed the suspect, Steve Kasimow, outside the home before he opened fire on her.

Miami-Dade officers said the suspect then took off.

He was later found four miles away in Hollywood, near Pembroke Road and South 21st Avenue.

Hollywood police officers explained more about how technology helped them find the suspect.

"Dispatch from Miami-Dade was able to ping the phone and transmitted the call to us and told us he was in our city," Hollywood Police Officer Christian Lata said.

Police have not said what led to the argument before it turned violent.
