Police Identify Man Killed Inside South Beach Apt Building

MIAMI BEACH (CBSMiami) – Police have identified the man killed in a shooting inside a Miami Beach apartment building on Friday.

The shooting happened around 9 a.m. at the Flamingo Towers on South Beach, located at 1500 Bay Road.

Miami Beach Police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez identified the man who was shot and killed in the third floor skyway as 40-year-old Richard Petik.

From the beginning, authorities said they had "parties of interest detained."

The investigation is ongoing.
