JACKSONVILLE (CBSMiami/AP) — The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said police fatally shot a man during a domestic dispute after he shot at officers and taunted them.

The shooting happened Sunday after the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office set up a perimeter around the home following a 911 call.

Chief Tom Hackney says the man fired a rifle at an officer at the back of the property, barely missing his head.

The Florida Times-Union reports the man ran to the front of the property and raised his rifle. Police shot at him but missed.

Hackney says the man taunted police, yelling "you missed me." They didn't miss the second time.

The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

The race of those involved in the shooting was not immediately available.

The man's wife and children were not injured.
