HOLLYWOOD (CBSMiami) - A couple was charged after they allegedly brought an infant to a drug deal.

Last Thursday, around 5:30 p.m., Hollywood police received a tip that a person with the street name "Red" was dealing crack cocaine along the Federal Highway corridor.

They had a confidential informant call "Red" around 6:15 p.m. say that he wanted to buy $40 worth of crack and he would be at the CVS store at 901 N Federal Highway. "Red" said he'd be there in 20 minutes. Little did "Red" know that members of the city's street crimes unit would be waiting for him.

Just before 1 p.m. a blue Nissan pulled into the parking lot and parked next to the informant. The driver, later identified as 25-year old Tavarus Taylor, got out of the driver's seat and walked up to the informant. At the same time Taylor's passenger, identifed as 23-year old Glorivee Almonte Morales, got out of the passenger side and acted as a look out, according to police.

After brief conversation, Taylor went back to the car, grabbed something from under the driver's seat and handed it to the informant who gave Taylor the money. Almonte Morales reportedly saw the deal go down and got back in the car.

That's when police moved in and took both her and Taylor into custody.

The 'rock' Taylor sold to the informant tested positive for cocaine, according to police. A search of the car turned up Almonte Morales' nine month old son in the rear passenger seat and reportedly another crack rock under the driver's seat.

Police said Almonte Morales and Taylor knowing placed the child in danger by bringing him to a drug deal.

"Street level drug deals are inherentely dangerous due to firearms often being present, armed robberies occurring and the possibilty of the polce arresting the participanst while brandishing firearms," according to Almonte Morales arrest report.

During questioning, Taylor reportedly admitted that he went to the CVS to sell drugs and that he was driving on a suspended license. Taylor and Almonte Morales were both charged the distribution of cocaine and child neglect with great bodily harm. Taylor faces an additional charge of driving on a suspended license.
