MIAMI (CBSMiami) – The wife of Marine murdered in a carjacking is making a special request.

Laura Comme says her husband, Guillermo, loved the feeling of riding a motorcycle.

"My husband was a lover of anything that made him feel free," Comme said. "It was an outlet to him and he said when he felt like he was flying, he could breathe easy."

She wants to make a wish come true for her husband.

"If he's gonna go out I want him to go out flying," she said.

Comme is asking motorcyclists to gather at the Broward College Recreation Center at 7200 Pines Boulevard on Friday morning at 7:30 am. Her family says they will ride to the funeral home in Hialeah and then on to the cemetery in Miami Gardens. The family says all riders will follow the direction of local police.

Guillermo Comme, 27, was Marine Corps veteran, serving two tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He died Sunday night during an armed carjacking.

Officers identified the man accused of killing Comme as 18-year-old Demetrious Williams.

Comme was driving along with a brother and friend after leaving a house party in Miami Gardens Sunday night.

Police said Williams, who had two guns, jumped into the driver's seat and shot Comme in the head. According to the family, Comme's brother returned fire and hit Williams.

When officers responded to the scene near 19820 NW 44th Court, they found Williams on the ground at the intersection with gunshot wounds. Witnesses identified him as the shooter, according to police

Both Comme and Williams were taken to Aventura Hospital, where they both died.

Comme's wife, Laura, doesn't know what the future hold for her and her now 9-year-old daughter.

"A very, very beautiful family," Laura said of Guillermo. "My husband was taken from us way too soon."

Guillermo Comme's coworkers said he had a promising career as an auto body shop technician.

"Always smiling, never a bad mood – especially he went and fought overseas. You know it breaks your heart," Sean Fletcher said.

Auto body shop technicians showed CBS4's Hank Tester where Comme worked at Bill Smith Chevrolet in Lauderhill.

"We were in the middle of teaching him. He was doing good," Randy Rand said.

"He had potential?" Tester questioned Rand.

"Oh yeah! We turned him on after a year. We have sixty years of combined experience and he is a champion," Rand said.

As for Williams' family, no one answered the door at his home earlier in the day.

One lady said she knew the young man and that the family wanted privacy. She promised a grandfather would eventually speak to CBS4 – and he did late Tuesday evening.

Joseph Ellis is the grandfather of Demetrious Williams. He said Williams' mother lost two husbands to gun violence and that Demetrious knew better.

"We did not know this boy was capable of these things," Ellis told CBS4's Carey Codd. "We raised him right. It's just a horrible, horrible situation for both families."

Ellis said his grandson went to school and to church and was a quiet, polite young man. He said Williams struggled with peer pressure and they have idea where he got the guns. Ellis wants to express his sympathy to the family of Guillermo Comme.

"I feel for that man's family," Ellis said. "We're devastated by that, especially my daughter."

Investigators say the case is currently open and ongoing.

Anyone with additional information in the case is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
