Plantation Cop Assigned To Cyberstalking Case Fired For Sending Sex Act Video To Victim

PLANTATION (CBSMiami) – A detective with the Plantation Police Department was terminated Tuesday after an internal affairs investigation revealed he sent a video of himself engaging in a sex act to a woman in a cyberstalking case he was assigned to.
According to a memo from Plantation Police Chief W. Howard Harrison, Detective Peter Saglio was assigned to the case sometime in 2015.
Over a six-week period, Saglio reportedly sent several inappropriate messages as well as an unapproved version of the narrative portion of the police report to the victim.
The memo stated that he then sent the victim a video of him engaging in a sex act on March 3rd, 2015.
The Sun Sentinel reports Saglio smashed the device in an effort try to destroy the evidence.
In the end, Saglio was found to be in violation of three department policies: conduct unbecoming to a member, dissemination of information and moral character.
Chief Harrison said he took into account Saglio's clean record, which spans 20 years with the force.
Harrison said he "found an unblemished history with no previous discipline."
And while Saglio's personnel file was lined with accolades and letters of appreciation, he was ultimately terminated.
