PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) — A Pembroke Pines police K-9 led his handler to a man suspected of robbing a gas station in the city early Tuesday morning.

Around 7 a.m., a man walked into the Mobil station, at 901 N. University Drive, picked up and item and then went to the counter as if to pay for it. When he got there, police say he brandished a gun he had hidden in his hoodie and demanded cash from the clerk.

After taking an undetermined amount from the register, the man ran out of the store.

Police said one of their K-9's led them to 1030 NW 79 Way where they located 34-year old Jesus Crespo who was positively identified by the clerk as the armed man who robbed the store.

Crespo was arrested and taken to the Pembroke Pines Police Department for processing. He was then taken to the sheriff's office main jail.
