TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (CBSMiami/AP) — A former Florida piano teacher at a charter school is accused of sexually assaulting a student between the ages of 5 and 9.

Tallahassee police arrested 53-year-old Jeffrey Henry on Wednesday after the alleged victim told mental health counselors about abuse between 2007 and 2011.

The girl told investigators Henry assaulted her in a private piano room during afterschool lessons at the School of Arts and Sciences.

The girl told her mother about the abuse last year but didn't want to talk to authorities or counselors about it at the time. The mother wrote an anonymous letter to the school, and it fired Henry.

Last week, the girl told counselors at a local hospital about the abuse.

Henry was being held at the Leon County jail.
