Marvez: Scout Says Dorsett 'Looks Like the Perfect Slot Receiver'

Fresh off Miami's Pro Day yesterday and it appears receiver Phillip Dorsett continues to raise his draft stock after running the 40-yard dash in the 4.25-4.30 range and competing in most drills.

"He didn't have to work out, guys," Fox Sports' Alex Marvez said on WQAM's Hochman and Krantz. "I mean look, we all knew Phillip Dorsett was fast, right?

"He wanted to compete and that shows so much to me. He did all the catching drills and he showcased himself. I had one scout there tell me he looks like the perfect slot receiver, the type of guy that he can work in space, he catches the ball and then he can beat you."

Playing slot would be a much different role than the one he played in college but Marvez said the scout thinks he has the versatile skill set to be more than what he was at Miami.

Impressing the NFL reporter further is the fact Dorsett is taking three classes this semester and is on track to graduate in May with a degree in sociology. Marvez posed an interesting hypothetical for the Miami Dolphins on Draft Day if Dorsett is still on the board.

"I'm not saying the first round but if the Dolphins have the chance to take him in the second round do you pass on him and get burnt again potentially like you did with T.Y. Hilton back in 2012?"
