Man dead after apparent shooting in Fort Lauderdale; no arrests made at this time, police say

New video shows moments from deadly Fort Lauderdale shooting

FORT LAUDERDALE — A man is dead after an apparent shooting in Broward County on Saturday afternoon.

Just after 1 p.m., Fort Lauderdale Police responded the 1400 block of Northeast 57th Street about a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found "evidence of a shooting" and that the victim had arrived at Imperial Point Hospital. FLPD later stated that the victim died at the hospital.

Nearby doorbell video showed the moments the shooter opened fire in the neighborhood, where gunshots could be heard echoing throughout the clip.

Resident Matthew Berry spoke with CBS News Miami, who said that the police response was quick.

"Earlier this afternoon, I came out and wanted to make a turn on the street right here, and I was blocked off by a firetruck, first of all," he said. "And then, I could see police cars here on this particular block, blocking it off, and then, tons of police cars racing to the scene in probably 15-20 different police cars from all directions."

No other victims were found and three people were detained. However, no arrests have been made at this time.

Officers are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting. If anyone has any information regarding the case, contact FLPD.
