Man airlifted after being struck by train in Doral, officials say

MIAMI -- A man was hurt after being struck by a CSX train Tuesday afternoon in Doral, authorities said.

According to Miami-Dade Fire & Rescue, the unidentified man was walking along NW 12th Street and 87th Avenue around 3 p.m.. when he was struck by the train.

The victim was flown for treatment to Kendall Regional Trauma Center, where he was listed in critical condition.

"CSX personnel are cooperating with the Miami-Dade Police Department who is investigating the incident," a spokesperson for CSX said in an email statement.

Officials did not immediately say why the man was walking on the tracks.
