Perryman: 'Coach Golden is Gonna Get it Right'

Denzel Perryman, taken by the Chargers with the No. 48 pick of the 2015 NFL Draft, could have followed in Lamar Miller's footsteps in going from the Canes to the Dolphins.

But the NFL team he grew up rooting for traded down in the second round, instead settling on defensive tackle Jordan Phillips of Oklahoma four spots later.

Perryman joined the Marc Hochman Show with Zach Krantz to talk about his new life in San Diego, explaining he wants to "let [the Dolphins] know what they missed out on" when his hometown team visits the Chargers in Week 15.

Was Denzel disappointed he wasn't taken by Miami?

"Yeah I was," he said, "just being from Miami, playing ball down in Miami all my life but I can't control what happens so I'm a San Diego Charger now."

The former leader of the Canes' defense thinks things will turn around in Coral Gables despite losing so much talent to the NFL.

"I think those guys -- like you said we lost a lot of guys, a lot of key guys too -- but I feel like coach Golden is gonna get it right down there. They're gonna turn this thing around.
