People Express Defiance And Courage In Wake Of Paris Attack

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - Shocked and saddened by the terrorist attack on the French satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo that left 12 people dead, many people turned to social media to express their outrage and defiance.
The wildly popular artist Banksy shared powerful images on his twitter account @therealbanksy . One has been retweeted more than 20-thousand times.

Pictures posted of crowds in Paris standing together with signs that read "We are not afraid" and "Je Suis Charlie" which translates to "I am Charlie" also show the unity spreading across Paris and the world.
A photo of a newborn wearing a hospital bracelet that reads "Je Suis Charlie" is another powerful, emotional image.
According to the website Topsy, which tracks tweets, #jesuischarlie was tweeted more than 2.5 million times in the 24-hours after the killings. And #CharlieHebdo was tweeted more than 3.5 million. Most messages proved the world mourns with Paris.
