Fight Leads To Gunfire At Pembroke Lakes Mall

PEMBROKE PINES (CBSMiami) – A Sears store in Pembroke Pines closed temporarily after a fight between three men at the Pembroke Lakes Mall ended in gunfire and one person injured.

Police got a call around 2 p.m. for a fight that broke out inside Sears while shoppers were inside.

During the fight, between the men who apparently knew each other, a single 'unintended discharge' occurred, police said.

Authorities said the single gun-shot fragmented into the tile floor, causing one of the men to sustain a minor injury to his lip.

Police said one of the suspects was carrying a 1-year-old child on his hip and a concealed firearm, holstered in his waistband.

All three men were arrested by police and face charges ranging from 'Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Aggravated Battery, Disorderly Conduct and Child Abuse.

Shopping at the store resumed after the incident and the mall remained open for business.
