Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Street In Sunrise

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – A man died after being struck by a car Monday while crossing NW 136th Avenue just after 5 p.m. said Florida Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian, Ronald William Crossley, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Florida Highway Patrol reports the driver of the 1999 Ford Explorer that struck Crossley is 24-year-old Cristian Gabriel Chaves Ghia.

FHP said the driver was not intoxicated.

It's not clear yet whether Crossly was under the influence of alcohol.  Those tests are listed as pending on the FHP accident report.
