Pedestrian Killed By Tri-Rail Train In North Miami

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – A Tri-Rail train struck and killed a pedestrian on Sunday in North Miami Beach.

According to authorities, a southbound train struck a pedestrian near Ives Dairy Road.

Miami-Dade Police responded to the area of 20101 Northeast 16th Place on a report of an injured person.

Authorities say the victim appears to be an adult male.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue declared the victim deceased on the scene.

The tracks run parallel to I-95 in that area, to the west of the highway.

There were 105 passengers on board the train at the time of the incident, according to authorities. None were injured.

A bus stage has been set up between the Golden Glades station on Hollywood station to transport passengers in the meantime.

Miami-Dade Police homicide detectives are investigating the scene.
