Delta Crewmembers Transported To Hospital After Feeling Ill On Jetliner At Miami International Airport

MIAMI (CBSMiami) - A Miami to Atlanta Delta flight was delayed at Miami International Airport Thursday morning after crewmembers fell ill inside the aircraft.

Authorities said flight number 940 was leaving for Atlanta when crewmembers began complaining of a smell and asked for medical attention.

It happened at around 8:30 a.m. while the plane was on the tarmac, authorities said.

A total of three patients were transported to Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables, a fourth person refused transport, according to authorities.

On Thursday morning, Delta released the following statment: "Delta apologizes to customers on flight 940 from Miami to Atlanta following a delay due to a crew illness that resulted in a crew swap prior to boarding."

There is no word on their condition at this time or what may have caused their illness.

The plane was rescheduled to depart later in the day.
