WESTON (CBSMiami) -- Parts of I-75 were reopened Tuesday following an accident involving a tractor trailer.

City officials say a tractor trailer jack-knifed during the accident just north of Royal Palm Boulevard, spilling about 50 gallons of diesel.

It is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident.

Chopper4 was over the scene where crews could be seen cleaning up the spilled fuel.

Authorities shut down the southbound lanes of the interstate at Indian Trace around 9:30 a.m., causing some major traffic tie ups.

Cars could be seen backed up for miles as drivers, one by one, passed through an emergency lane to make it to the other side of the closed off section.

Just before noon, authorities reopened three lanes, helping some traffic to move in the area.

Officers are warning drivers in the area to take an alternate route.
