Panthers Trade Kampfer To Rangers For Former First Round Pick McIlrath

SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – The Florida Panthers got a big win over rival Tampa Bay on Monday, then made a deal with another rival on Tuesday.

The Panthers have traded defenseman Steven Kampfer to the New York Rangers in exchange for former first round pick defenseman Dylan McIlrath.

The Rangers will also receive a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2018 if McIlrath plays 30 or more games with the Panthers this season.

Both Kampfer and McIlrath have appeared in one NHL game this season.

McIlrath was selected 10th overall in the 2010 NHL Draft. He has two goals and two assists in 38 career games with the Rangers.

Kampfer has accumulated nine goals and 14 assists while appearing in 134 NHL games for the Panthers and Boston Bruins.
