Panthers Sign D Shane O'Brien To One-Year Deal
SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – Florida Panthers general manager Dale Tallon announced on Monday that the team has signed defenseman Shane O'Brien to a one-year, two way contract.
O'Brien will start the season with the Panthers AHL affiliate in San Antonio.
The move clears the way for defenseman Colby Robak to start the year on the Panthers 23-man roster.
Florida invited O'Brien to training camp on a PTO (professional try out) and were pleased enough with his play to offer him a contract. He will likely be the first defenseman called up should any of the players on the current roster struggle or get injured.
