SUNRISE (CBSMiami) – The Florida Panthers stumbled into the NHL All-Star break by losing four consecutive games for the first time this season.

With over a week off until their next game, the Panthers are sending one of their top prospects down to the AHL to get some work in during the extended layoff.

Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced on Tuesday that the team has reassigned forward Vincent Trocheck to the San Antonio Rampage.

Before being in the lineup for Monday's loss to Vancouver, Trocheck had been a healthy scratch in five of the Panthers last six games.

The 21-year-old has played in 28 games with Florida this season, registering four goals and nine assists.

Trocheck has played a total of 48 games in the NHL, all with the Panthers, logging 21 points (9 goals 12 assists) and 18 penalty minutes.

He has also played in eight games with San Antonio this season, recording six points (2 goals 4 assists).

It's likely that Trocheck will get called back up to the Panthers following the All-Star break.  Florida plays its next game on Tuesday, January 27th at the BB&T Center against the Detroit Red Wings.
